A: Depending on how you heard about us, whether you are already an enrolled student or prospective student.

Enrolled students, you have received a login, password and information package regarding your classes and programs. Go to http://elearning.esc-lille.fr enter your login and password, and then choose your program, please to the information sent to you on how to access your online campus.

What are the registration and enrollment processes?
A: You choose your major, download the pre-enrollment re registration form (a one page document), fill it out and send it to eclee@esc-lille.fr; this allow you to take a class without any long term commitment and see how it work for you. You will be given student ID #, a class number and information.

Why do I have to go through the pre-enrollment process?
A: The pre-enrollment process allow us to work with the candidate, know him/her better, and provides him/her with proper advise that will help him/her choose the right major, make the best educational plan.

What is involved in the application process and how long does it take to get started?
A: The application process involves submitting the completed application form along with your essay, letter of recommendation etc… and the application fee. The Degree Program Application can be mailed to ECLEE 5, Residence Citeaux, Parc St. Maur Avenue de Mormal 59000 Lille, France; or submitted electronically at eclee@esc-lille.fr. You are expected to include in the application your Official Transcripts from any and all colleges you attended as well as your company sponsored courses.
Once the evaluation of the admission materials is completed by the Admissions Committee, and the applicant is accepted, the applicant is mailed his or her Enrollment Agreement, Degree Program, and Acceptance Letter.

How does the ESC-Lille/ECLEE distance learning work?
A: You will need a computer and access to the Internet. Distance Learning at ESC-Lille includes one-on-one communication with your faculty advisor and professors. This process guarantees you maximum feedback and support by an expert in the field. Currently this contact is made through two delivery systems. Both systems provide you with a sequential course syllabus, assignments and guided learning experience. Here, students access their course materials anytime from anywhere through http://elearning.esc-lille.fr. They complete and submit assignments online. Students interact with their professors and virtual “classmates” and even take exams and receive faculty feedback and grades online.

Can I perform in the class and in my job?
A: The answer is YES, the program is flexible enough to accommodate your busy schedule. Most of the course materials are posted online so that you can access them over and over again. If you can reserve few hours a week, you will be able to complete your class successfully.
Our programs provide a flexible and individualized program that recognizes the needs of the adult learner and mid-career professional without ever having to compromise academic excellence. Although you never have to attend classes, you are guaranteed one-on-one instruction from the faculty, whereby you receive timely feedback through regular contacts with your professors.

Are ESC-Lille/ECLEE credits transferable?
A: There is never complete assurance that credits will all be transferred. As is the case with any college/university, the acceptance of credits from the ESC-Lille is at the discretion of the accepting institution. The ESC-Lille have several accreditation amongst them the French Ministry of Higher Education, The European Union, The EQUIS etc…

What does ESC-Lille accept as transfer credit?
A: Transfer Credit is awarded for courses taken at an accredited higher learning institution, and if the course is applicable to the program or equivalent to a particular course in the candidate program at ESC-Lille.
Standardized tests such as the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) offer a desirable means for adult-learners to receive academic credit for what they know. CLEP exams mostly cover General Education content area courses.
Credit may also be granted for work experience, instructor led training in the company, military coursework, occupational specialties, etc…candidate are invited to discuss about that with their faculty advisor.

How many online courses can I take at one time?
A: we suggest that a student takes no more than two online learning courses at the same time. In the event you need to take more classes, please discuss with your advisor.

How do I start my courses?
A: When you receive your enrollment confirmation for a course, you will be given all the courses information http://elearning.esc-lille.fr/ starting and ending dates for your courses, your professors will be notified of your registration.
For courses in the online environment, you will receive e-mail notification of your user codes for access to your courses online. For courses not yet in the online environment, you will receive a student package via postal. mail or e-mail.

What do I do if I run into difficulties with a course (change in my work assignment)?
A: Students, Faculty and Administration are communicating on a regular basis via e-mail, fax and phone, for that reason any problems which may arise can be resolved as quickly as possible. If circumstances require a delay in completion of the course, a Course Extension Request may be filed. If circumstances occur which prevent continuous enrollment, a Leave of Absence is provided to accommodate the situation. However it is your responsibility to notify the faculty early enough so that you are not penalized.

What are the technology requirements for online courses?
A: Our online courses are designed to be viewed with Internet Explorer 6.0 and above, and above, and Firefox using Windows Explorer or Macintosh operating systems. We cannot ensure that our courses can be viewed with other browsers and we do not have the resources to troubleshoot problems that may arise with Linux or other operating systems.
Our courses require a modem speed of 56K (for dial-up connections) or a broadband connection (DSL or cable).
In addition to the basic requirements, for some courses you may need PowerPoint, Flash 6.0, Adobe Acrobat 5.0 or higher, Visio, Real Player, or Windows Media Player. If a course relies on software that is beyond the basic technology requirements, the software will be described in the course introduction.

Can online students use the ESC-Lille/ECLEE libraries and other campus resources?
A: Yes. The following services are available to all online students:

  • You have access to Cross Knowledge resources
  • From your home computer, you can access the ESC-Lille Mediatheque, library catalog and any of the hundreds of research databases maintained by ESC-Lille Libraries.
  • You can borrow books, journals, or copies of articles
  • You can ask research questions by e-mail, chat or phone.
  • You can use the campus computing centers.
All online students are provided with a wealth of online resources—links to writing guides, a research tutorial, and dictionaries and encyclopedias specific to their subject area.

What about the graduation?
A: A degree is granted by ESC-Lille based on the judgment of the Deans, the Jury and your Faculty advisor that your work is satisfactory, and you have completed all designated requirements for the degree. You have five years to complete the program according to the requirements in effect at the time of your enrollment. If you do not complete your program within the five-year period, you may be obligated to fulfill any new requirements in place at the time of your next enrollment to graduate. Prospective graduates must file an Application for Graduation no later than 10 weeks prior to the expected date of graduation. Final determination of eligibility is dependent on a Degree Check for Advancement to Candidacy, approval of the supervising Faculty and the Dean of Academic Affairs. A student may graduate with honors signifying achievement of scholastic excellence.

What are my student rights and how do I file a grievance with the university?
A: Students may appeal decisions of faculty and staff of the University and its policies by filing a formal grievance petition in the form of a letter addressed to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. The Vice President, along with the academic deans, will constitute the Grievance Committee. This Committee will review and research all facets of the student’s concerns and provide the student with a report of its findings.

What is ESC-Lille/ECLEE for Advanced Studies’ attendance policy?
A: Day-to-day attendance is not taken by the professor. However, the expectation is that the student is working independently to meet the 10-week course deadline.

How can I get credit for prior experiential learning?
A: Students seeking credit for related academic experience that directly relates to specific ESC-Lille for Advanced Studies courses may seek credit by applying for a Challenge Examination for each course they are seeking credit.
Students are encouraged to give careful consideration before beginning the Challenge Examination Process. Some courses that are project oriented may not be appropriate for challenge by exam. Students should understand that what they believe is applicable background for successfully passing a Challenge Examination may not be adequate or complete enough to meet the criteria for the ESC-Lille course in question. Note that a successful course challenge will require the student to provide documentation of prior learning, and may require additional assignments as determined by the instructor of the course being challenged.
A student must successfully pass the Challenge Examination in order to receive credit for the course.

I have taken some classes in my company; can I get credit for those courses?
A: The ESC-Lille recognized that knowledge and skills can be gained in many different settings, therefore some trainings and classes attended in your company might be qualified for credit transfer.

What is the term for ESC-Lille/ECLEE Class?
A: In general our online classes are based on trimester term (10 weeks), however some classes, could be shorter than 10 weeks, depending on the student motivation and capability of working fast and submitting his/her assignments.

How much does it cost?
A: Tuition is charged by the unit or credit hour. Students are charged $420 per unit/credit hour for a Bachelor's program, $580 per unit/credit hour for a Master's program, and $680 for Doctorate program.

Does Esc-Lille/ECLEE offer financial aid?
A: ESC-Lille/ECLEE offers financial aids on case by case basis. In the event that a student cannot continue his/her studies due to financial difficulties, the program Director can petition on behalf of the student to the Financial Aids office. Applicants are invited to fill in the appropriate application form and sent it to: eclee@esc-lille.fr;
