Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), Foundation & Practitioner

Overview

Officially launched in 1999, “Managing Successful Programs” (MSP®) is a guide that provides and maintains a strategic view over the set of projects, aligning and coordinating them within a program of business change in support of specific business strategies.

Who is the course designed for?

Any organization or individual seeing the need for a controlled approach to managing its programs. It is suitable for program managers, experienced project managers, program support team members and senior managers from any discipline.

The OGC Managing Successful Programs method is flexible and adaptable for any type and size of program where a business “vision” is the required outcome.

  • Linking to Policy and Strategy. Preparing a Program Brief.
  • Planning to Define the Program.

Blueprint Design and Delivery

  • What is a Blueprint, and what does it contain?
  • Developing a Blueprint from the Vision Statement.

Defining a Program

  • Creating a Program Definition Document (including the Project Dossier, the Program Plan and the Program Business Case).

Planning and Control

  • What is a Program Plan and how is it developed?
  • The Project Dossier. Resourcing and scheduling.

Benefits Realization Management

  • The key driver for the program.
  • How benefits realization links to achieving strategic objectives.
  • Outcome relationship models and Benefit Maps.
  • Planning for benefits realization.

Organization and the Program Office

  • Organization and leadership.
